UCPA Mountain Bike / Multi Sports
The perfect week for the keen but not obssesed Mountain Biker. You get 6 1/2 day mountain biking sessions, plus another 4 1/2 days of other mountainn activities.
The mountain biking is cross country on a variey of tracks and trails around Chamonix. The bikes are front suspension cross country models, all modern and of good quality. Your guide is fully qualified on the Frenh system and has lots of great local knowledge to share with you.
You don't need to be super experienced, but a good level of fitness will help you enjoy the activities to the most.
On the other 4 half day sessions you will experience some fantastic local activities:- rafting in the Val d'Aosta, ice climbing on the Mer de Glace and high altitude hiking on the face of Mont Blanc.
Everything is fully included:- bikes, guiding, all equipment, all local transfers, lift passes and even packed lunches.
Day after day
Sunday - Check in between 10am and 12noon and 1.30pm and 5.30pm. Distribution of sports equipment at 5pm. Once on site, make the most of Chamonix, a bustling tourist town. Information meeting about your activities at 6.30pm.
Monday- A day of "free-wheeling": instruction and advice concerning simple techniques along with dexterity games on all terrains with the Mont Blanc as a backdrop. Approx. 25 km.
Tuesday - A day on the Massif des Houches, mostly downhill slope for about 1,000m thanks to the lifts. A varied trail with short climbs for a unique view over the Mont-Blanc range. Around 35 km.
Wednesday - A morning panorama from the top of the Aiguille du Midi gondola lift (3,842 m.). Meal at the centre. The afternoon will be spent rafting 6 km down the Arve river that crosses through the Chamonix valley.
Thursday - A magnificent walking tour to enjoy the unique landscape surrounding the natural scenic vista of the Aiguilles Rouges massif. Access by ski lift.
Friday - One of the most beautiful all-terrain bike trips possible, a unique and natural twisting trail leading down through the Swiss high mountain pastures. Approx. 32km. Continuing on from the town of Vallorcine, we will follow the historic mail coach path up to the Montets Pass at the beginning of the Aiguilles Rouges reserve. Then 12 km descending upon Chamonix
Saturday - Walkabout in Chamonix. Programme ends in early afternoon.
